Not what it seems to be Pictures have through all times been manipulated or worked upon. Today it has become much easier than when you had to work with the limited possibilities of a darkroom. Here are a couple of examples of photomanipulation:
Orange. This photo is among the highest rated in the category Abstract at Photo.net – but the phenomenon in the picture does only partly exist in the real world. The upper half shows an oven-dried slice of an orange – with light coming from behind. The lower half of the picture is a mirror image – totally made up in Photoshop.

Blue and Red. The blue door-opening is photographed in a monastery in Peru. The red is a copy of the blue, which by the use of Photoshop was copied in perspective – and then the colour was changed into red. The picture was finally adorned with a cross and a few other little refinements.

Resting Lady. This picture really is two photos combined. I found the stairs in Greece, and the picture was taken in the middle of the day. The lady’s legs are quite non-sexy, as they are the legs of a wax doll, but put together the two elements make a picture suited for the imagination – well, probably especially that of the male gender.
